i saw an absolutely amazing thing tonight.
janet weiss of sleater-kinney was drumming and i was dancing in the audience. and at one point, during a long instrumental part of a song, i could see both of her drumsticks at the rest position and both physically contacting the drums at the same time, with a blur in-between. she was moving them so fast, my eyes literally couldn't see any motion at all. none whatsoever. the drumsticks appeared perfectly still. i could only hear the insane beats of a drum hit at lightspeed while i watched the optical illusion of four motionless drumsticks instead of two.
she kept it up for at least 20 or 30 seconds.
and she didn't lose the beat or the timing once.

new gear. "new" project.
okay, well more like an old project that got a breath of new life, making it new. it's not what it used to be. it's something i can be excited about again.
coming soon. or eventually. you know how i am.
(it doesn't matter too much. i'm so out of the loop here, only 3 people might hear it.)
i wish i actually knew how to play all these instruments i have.
